She participated in the ‘Leadership and Decision Making in the 21st Century’ program at Yale University.A Director of Pro-Direct Investments: a woman-owned and listed coal mining company.

A Director of Travel with Flair: A Travel Management Company. She is the Executive Chairperson of Tswelopele Productions, a television production company, which produced Top Billing amongst other television shows.
A co-founder and CEO of Connect TV, which produces reality shows.

Basetsana sits on various Boards, namely:

• The Nelson Mandela Institute for Education and Rural Development: Director
• A Board member of JAM which is an NGO that feeds 100,000 pre-school aged children in informal settlements at day care centres.
• She is the Chairperson of the Business Women’s Association of South Africa.

  In 2011 she was nominated as a Young Global Leader: World Economic Forum, an
  accolade that is bestowed upon you by Her Majesty, Queen Rania of Jordan.
  She is a Motivational Speaker and together with her husband they have
  established the Romeo and Basetsana Kumalo Family Foundation, which focuses
  on the development of child headed household, and children who have been
  orphaned by the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
