Faith Khanyile

Treasurer and Chair: Catalytic Strategy

Faith is a businesswoman and a Director of public and private companies. She has over 25 years of experience in the Financial Services Sector including corporate and investment banking, structured finance, private equity, asset management, and social impact investing.   Faith has been extensively involved in the shaping of South Africa’s women development and empowerment space, most notably, she is a founding member of WDB Investment Holdings, a highly successful women-owned and led investment company formed in 1996 by the WDB Trust to promote the meaningful participation of women in the South African economy.  Until April 2022, she was the CEO of WDB Investment Holdings (WDBIH).  She is also a member of the International Women’s Forum (South Africa), a local chapter of a global organization that advocates for the increase of women in leadership positions in the business and government sectors.

Faith is an experienced non-executive board director of private and publicly listed companies and has been serving on Boards for the past 20 years in a range of sectors including financial services (insurance, banking, and fund management), property, services, healthcare, and education.  She currently serves on the boards of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) listed Discovery Limited, the JSE Limited, Bidvest Limited and Premier FMCG.   Her executive and non-executive roles have given her deep knowledge and expertise in corporate governance, impact investing, gender lens-investing, driving transformation and change, strategy development & execution, corporate restructuring, risk management and compliance, ESG and strategic stakeholder engagement.

She is a hands-on, results-oriented leader who is also very conscious about the critical and positive role that business can play in transforming and impacting society at large. Faith is passionate about contributing to the growth and development of the African continent and promoting inclusive growth and women advancement.  She is also actively involved in the SME funding and development and provides strategic advisory services to entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses.

She has a BA (Hons) in Economics – Cum Laude from Wheaton College, MBA Finance, from Bentley Graduate School of Business, both in the United States and a Higher Diploma in Tax from the University of Johannesburg.   She also completed an Executive Development Program at Columbia Business School and an Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
