Dorianne Cara Weil is a clinical and organizational psychologist with over 35 years’ experience in hospital, private and corporate practice.
“Dr D” is renowned as South Africa’s leading media psychologist whose live radio and TV talk shows address the spectrum of life challenging, relationship and self- development topics. She is regularly appointed for comment on current issues and was the expert psychologist on the Oscar Pistorius trial. Although often a lone voice, Dori was acclaimed for her balanced views and in-depth psychological understanding. She accurately predicted the verdict as well as the sentence.
Dori has interviewed the Dalai Lama, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Mother Theresa, and a host of international and local politicians, authors and renowned experts. Dori is a long-term judge and an adjudicator for the National Radio Awards. Her work in industry includes mentoring training, mediation, executive coaching and workshop facilitation.
Known as a dynamic, knowledgeable and life changing speaker, she has addressed audiences and facilitated groups in 61 countries, including India, Russia, most European countries and the USA. Dori’s clients include many listed and non-listed companies including Anglo American, South African Breweries, BMW, Sasol, Vodacom, Standard Bank, Eskom, Investec, and numerous others. In 2019 Dori was honoured by the Professional Speakers Association and inducted into the Educator Hall of Fame.
Dori has received recognition for outstanding contribution to the betterment of the lives of people and South African society. She was awarded SA’s Most Influential Women Lifetime Achiever, in Business and Government (CEO Magazine) and the winner of the ABSA Jewish Achiever Cyril Harris Humanitarian award. She is the recipient of several other awards including the International Rotary Paul Harris award
and was a finalist in The Business Women’s Association award. She is a Trustee for the Tomorrow Trust, educating and sustaining aids orphans. Other contributions include the development of emotional intelligence programmes
utilised in South African schools and Majors for Minors CDs focusing on brain food for kids.
Dori was an Africa regional board member of the Young Presidents Organisation and World Presidents and as education chair her programmes won the Best of the Best Education Award. She was the Africa chair of the Spouse/Partner Business Network,the Africa Regional Forum Chair and the International Vice-Chair or the Relationship Network. She was appointed to host the International Forum Facilitators Conference in South Africa. She is the longest standing certified forum facilitator in YPO and is also a certified mentoring facilitator for YPO and YPO Gold.
She is an animatrix, a story teller, a passionate and compassionate life participant who enjoys interior design, exciting cooking, music and art. She considers her greatest achievement to be the mother of 28 year old twins – Dean Harrison and Jemma-Claire.
