Nozi Mjoli

Nozi Mjoli (Dr)

Managing Director of Hlathi Development Services

Dr Nozi Mjoli is the founder and Managing Director of Hlathi Development Services which she established in 2003. She has more than 35 years of research and consulting experience in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Water & Sanitation policy, strategy and governance. She is an accredited Enneagram Practitioner and author of a book: “Embracing Gender Diverse Leadership for Innovation in the 21st Century”.

She completed water and sanitation consultancy work for Stockholm International Water Institute and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

She chairs the Board of Water Research Commission; she served on Boards of NTP Radioisotopes Ltd and Pelchem Ltd (NECSA subsidiaries 2016 – May 2020) and South African National Space Agency (2014-2018). She holds a PhD& MSc in Microbiology (Notre Dame University) and BSc Hons (Fort Hare University).

She was a recipient of the 2003 Women in Water Award for her contribution to water and sanitation policy development from the Minister of Water Affairs.

Dr Mjoli was a recipient of the Fulbright scholarship for her MSc Microbiology at Notre Dame University and a CSIR Post-Doctoral Scholarship for her Post-doc research at the University of Cape Town.
