Judy Dlamini (Dr.)

Judy is a qualified medical and academic doctor. She has worked as a medical doctor in private practice, occupational health consultant, corporate financier (at HSBC Investment Bank, entrepreneur, published author and philanthropist. She’s the founder of Mbekani Group which will celebrate 30 years in business in 2026. Founder and Sponsor of Female Academic Leaders Fellowship NPC (FALF), which seeks to develop a pipeline of female academic leaders and researchers. Co-founder of Sifiso Learning Group and Future Nation School (FNS). FNS is an affordable private independent school that nurtures future leaders and critical thinkers from 18-months to matric.

Her doctoral thesis was converted to a bestseller titled Equal but Different. Her other titles include The Other Story, Grow to be Great and The Doctor of Hearts. She writes to inform and empower with an interest in academic writing on entrepreneurship, social justice, and gender equality.

Her past non-executive directorships include Discovery Holdings Ltd where she chaired the transformation and remuneration committees, Northam Platinum Ltd, Woolworths Holdings Limited and Anglo-American plc. She is the former chairperson of Aspen Phamacare Limited, Gender Based Violence and Femicide Response Fund and Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre (Pty) Ltd. She’s the current Chancellor at Wits University and a non-executive director at the SA SME Fund.

Her philanthropic initiatives include Mkhiwa Trust, a family public benefit organisation that invests in education and rural development, and FALF. She’s been honored by Nelson Mandela University with a PhD in Business and UKZN with a PhD in Economics.

She’s a mother, grandmother, wife, and sister.
