Mokganyetsi Violet (aka Staff) Sithole

Businesswoman

Staff Sithole is a passionate and accomplished businesswoman with over 30 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. Her expertise spans education, mining, rail manufacturing, social development, and corporate governance. In 1995, she became one of the first Directors in the Gauteng Department of Education, playing a pivotal role in establishing the department. She later founded the MultiChoice Africa Foundation, leading impactful corporate social investment initiatives and representing the company at multiple World Economic Forums.

In 2004, she co-founded Genorah Resources, a black-owned mining company, and Uweso Consulting, a specialist monitoring and evaluation firm . She is a founding shareholder and Director of the Gibela Rail Transport Consortium, which is delivering 600 commuter trains to PRASA, and played a key role in the establishment of uBumbano Opco, a black-owned manufacturer of rail components.

Staff is also the founder of the Techno Girl Trust, which has empowered over 33,000 girls from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue careers in STEM fields. She has been honoured as a Positive Role Model Entrepreneur at both Gauteng provincial and national levels in South Africa.

She holds two Master’s degrees—an MPhil in Monitoring and Evaluation from Stellenbosch University and a Master’s in Education from the University of the Witwatersrand
