President and Co-Founder of African Women in Business | Director of Programmes, Graça Machel Trust | Expert in Sustainable Development and Women’s Economic Empowerment

Shiphra is the President and Co-Founder of the African Women in Business (“AWIB”), a Pan-African organisation representing the interests of women entrepreneurs and providing a platform for access to investments. She is also Director of Programmes at Graça Machel Trust focusing on advocating for the removal of structural barriers and ensuring policy reforms for women and girls in leadership and economic development. 

A highly respected and accomplished executive, entrepreneur, director of companies, and development expert who has worked across the continent with over 20 years of experience in successfully developing and implementing company and business model strategies around sustainable development.

She spent over 20 years as Director of MKT Investments, Chief Executive Officer of the Anglo American Sishen Iron Ore Community Development Trust ensuring the development of the mining communities for sustainable socio-economic development (SED) through collaboration with mining companies across the region, government, MSMEs (SMME), and relevant stakeholders.

She serves on several boards and committees to advance the leadership and economic development of women and girls on the continent.
