Distinguished Business Leader and South African Chartered Accountant
Sindi Mabaso-Koyana is a distinguished South African Chartered Accountant and a prominent business leader, recognized for her extensive contributions to various sectors. As the co-founder of the African Women Chartered Accountants (AWCA), she has played a pivotal role in promoting financial inclusion and empowering women, especially through her leadership in AIH and AIH Capital. Her career includes key positions such as Managing Director of Viamax Logistics, Group CFO of Transnet, and Executive Partner at Ernst & Young, among others.
Sindi has significantly impacted corporate governance as a Non-Executive Director on numerous boards, including the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), South African Airways (SAA), and FIFA. She has chaired essential committees such as Audit, Risk, Sustainability, and Remuneration. Her expertise is further demonstrated through her involvement on international boards and advisory panels, including the Aspen Global Leadership Network and the International Women’s Forum.
Sindi is a respected educator, delivering lectures at esteemed institutions such as Duke University and INSEAD, while also contributing to public sector education at the National School of Government. Her leadership has earned her numerous accolades, including recognition as one of South Africa’s Top 20 Most Powerful Women and a finalist for the Businesswoman Award of South Africa in 2004.
